The purpose of the standard "Guide for Test Sets and Tools for Testing Protective Relays" is to provide technical guidance for the design, application, and calibration of protective relay test equipment, by standardizing test methods (such as manual and automated closed-loop modes) and performance metrics (e.g., accuracy, response time). This ensures accurate simulation of power system conditions, validation of relay functionality, and consistency and reliability in testing. The significance of the standard lies in its enhancement of testing efficiency and accuracy, promotion of equipment interoperability and standardization, support for digital testing (e.g., IEC 61850 interfaces), reduction of power system failure risks, facilitation of full lifecycle management of relays, and alignment with the evolving requirements of smart grid development.
During the conference, engineers from KETOP engaged in in-depth technical exchanges with domestic and international experts on the key parameters and testing methods of protective relay test equipment. They put forward constructive suggestions on key issues such as accuracy testing, response time testing, safety and environmental testing, mechanical performance testing, and operational challenges related to test instruments, which received unanimous recognition from the attending experts.

Engaged in discussions with Andrea Bonetti, Vice Chair of the Working Group (current Chairperson of IEC TC95 and Senior Expert at Megger).

Engaged in discussions with Cord Mempel, Product Manager at Omicron.
