On June 10, 2025, Xuchang KETOP Testing Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "KETOP"), as the lead drafting unit for the standard, participated in the second working group meeting for drafting the national standard "Basic Testing Method for Relaying Protection and Security Automatic Equipment," which was held in Xuchang. This meeting brought together 56 senior experts from leading industry enterprises such as State Grid and China Southern Power Grid, as well as authoritative testing institutions, to jointly advance the development of this important national standard.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Hu Xiaojing of the Standardization Technical Committee, who also delivered a phased summary on the drafting work of the national standard "Basic Testing Method for Relaying Protection and Security Automatic Equipment." She reviewed the overall progress made since the first working group meeting. Wang Wei, Deputy General Manager of KETOP, delivered the welcome address.
During the meeting, Director Liu Luoyang and Senior Engineer Liu Yuanwei from KETOP systematically presented the core technical content of the standard outline and draft version. Directors Li Liang, Li Weidong, and Senior Engineer Li Jia provided professional supplementary explanations regarding the draft standard.
The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding the 157 expert comments collected after the first working group meeting, ultimately adopting 135 constructive revision suggestions. The participating experts engaged in lively discussions around the draft standard, offering numerous professional insights, particularly on key technical aspects such as "Terminology and Definitions," "Accuracy Tests for Characteristic Quantities of Measuring Relays and Devices," "Optical Port Transmit/Receive Power Tests," and "Temperature Rise Tests." Through thorough technical exchange and deliberation, the meeting reached significant consensus on the technical content and textual norms of the draft standard, laying a solid foundation for its subsequent refinement.

As a core technical specification for the power industry, this standard clearly defines key test methods for products such as measuring relays and protection devices in secondary power system circuits. These methods cover fundamental performance, digital interfaces, environmental adaptability, mechanical properties, electromagnetic compatibility, safety, communication, and protocols. The formulation of the standard will provide a crucial basis for the research, development, production, and inspection of related products, holding significant importance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of power systems.
